On the occasion of the most exciting sporting events planets in Brazil, the tour companies in this country have devised unique sightseeing services to attract tourists. And one of those ideas is the amphibious travel bus running both on land and on water.

In the following article, let’s come to Rio to participate in sightseeing journey from land to sea on a travel bus ‘Duck’ running both on land and on water.

The cable car visiting areas on Mount Sugarloaf is one of the main attractions of Rio, and this is also the starting point for the new tour on Brazil's amphibious travel buses. Called amphibious because it can operate as both a car and a boat, named Duck Copacabana. Buses allow to transport 28 passengers with the cruise along the coastal path Botafogo and Flamengo to Gloria marina and into the waters of Guanabara Bay.

Ms. Luciana Morosini, travel guide said: People took advantage of the old buses and convert them into a unique buses. For many other countries, perhaps this means is not strange, but for us it is new because it is the first time they appear in Brazil. We are excited and proud to be involved in this journey. And of course, the tourists, too, it will leave a good memory for them.’

The car was designed by a group of engineers including three people, based on the idea of a similar tour in Boston and London. They used the chassis of a Mercedes Benz producted since 1972. When the bus went into the water, the engine will stop working because it is controlled by a hydraulic rotor. The sailor will replace to the driver. Children and passengers over 60 years old are required to wear life jackets while other passengers are still encouraged to use.

Ms. Gabrela Garcia, a Venezuela Guests shares: ‘It is very interesting, I thought it would be a pity for those who can not experience this unique travel when coming to Rio this year. This bus is also very beautiful, I loved it. And it makes me have more good impression of this city.’

To fabricate this special bus, it took 3 years. It was put into operation in early 2014. The engineers said, half the time of the research, they have focused on perfecting the technical regulations of the Brazilian Navy and the local department of motor vehicles. Therefore, the safety of this bus is very high because it has four separate chambers equipped with special naval foam.

The tours operate 4 times/day, except Mondays with the cost of 45 USD/person.
